This fall, Ashton College is making an appearance in different provinces across Canada. Having visited Alberta in Edmonton and Calgary, Ashton College is coming to Hire Canada Job Fair in Ontario on December 8, 2016.
Managing the Booth
Ashton College attended the Alberta Employment and Career Fair in Edmonton and the Career, Education and Settlement Immigrant Fair in Calgary earlier in October. “Both fairs were a success,” shares Perry Gross, Admissions Officer for Ashton Online. “It was a great opportunity to meet with our prospective students and answer their questions about the programs we offer at Ashton.”
Perry was pleasantly surprised to see many of the past Ashton College stop by the booth as well. “It was great to see them stop by and greet me at the booth,” shares Perry.
In fact, one of our past students, Karen Klouth, decided to volunteer with Perry at the booth for the whole day in Calgary.
“I see volunteering as a way to give back,” shares Karen. “I’ve had such a great experience at Ashton with all the wonderful instructors that I’ve learnt from, so I was happy to do something for the college in return!”
Volunteering with Ashton
Karen has completed Immigration Consultant Diploma program at Ashton College in early 2016, and she has been pursuing a new goal ever since: to become a successful business owner here in Canada. “I have opened my own immigration practice, A7 Canadian Immigration Solutions,” shares Karen. “I am excited to help other immigrants like myself find their new home here in Canada.”
For Karen, Ashton College has been key in helping her with her new career. “I believe that to grow as a professional, we need high quality education – and this is exactly what I got at Ashton.” So when Karen heard that Ashton College would be at a career fair in her city, she knew she wanted to help out.
“I had an opportunity to change my profession through Ashton College,” shares Karen. “If my experiences could help someone else make a decision to pursue their dream, I am always ready to help!”
Karen also shared that she was able to make great connections with many people who were at the Career Fair. “It was a great experience! I was able to spend time with Perry and to learn more about different programs at Ashton College,” she shares, smiling. “I hope one day I’ll be able to work together with Ashton College as an instructor and a mentor to continue this legacy.”
Coming to Ontario in December
Perry is excited to represent Ashton Online team in Ontario. “We want to be able to have a presence in different provinces across Canada, to give our students a chance to see us in person,” shares Perry.
Perry will also be sharing more details on the enrollment process for our Immigration Consultant Diploma programs at the fair, as the admissions requirements for the program are changing.
If you would like to volunteer with us at the Ontario Job Fair, please contact us before December 5!
