Campbell, Brittany

Brittany Chung Campbell comes to Ashton College with an extensive background in storytelling using various forms of media. As a book editor and self-publishing consultant based in Toronto, Ontario, her goal is to teach storytellers how to turn their ideas into a compelling story that builds communities. After her graduation, Brittany interned at CTV.ca and became obsessed with digital storytelling. Since then, she has worked as a corporate copywriter across many different industries, performs at storytelling events, has been published in anthologies and has transitioned into entrepreneurship by helping writers become authors.

 

Hummel, Ann

Ann Hummel has taught at the secondary school level for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelor of Education at Western University and her Principal’s Qualifications from the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario (CPCO). She has extensive experience as a guidance counsellor, independent literacy tutor and secondary school teacher focusing on English, visual art and technology design. Through her work, she has developed student success programming to improve the achievement level of all students. Ann also teaches adult ESL courses and career development skills training, and she was a mentor through the New Teacher Induction Program. From diploma completion to career development, Ann has been involved in teaching and developing curriculum for several adult education courses. She also worked for a Language Acquisition company that provides tech community employees with TOEFL preparation, business language skills, and relocation information. Her value for lifelong learning extends from academic pursuits to all things creative. She strives to provide a creative classroom environment that is energizing and engaging.

 

Mines, Christopher

Seidler, Sharon

Sharon Seidler is a Human Resources Professional and Conflict Resolution Professional with over fifteen years of experience in Human Resources Supports, Organizational Development, Change Management, Training and Development, Employee Engagement, Employee and Labour Relations, and Leadership Development. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s Human Resources Management Program and Kansas State University’s Conflict Resolution Program. She has also been a certified mediator, a mentor with the Kansas Supreme Courts, and a member of the Kansas Supreme Court Advisory Council on Dispute Resolution.

Sharon currently works in post-secondary education with Ashton College Online, focusing on human resources, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and change management. Sharon has extensive experience developing and instructing organizational training programs in conflict resolution, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and leadership development to promote inclusive, safe and healthy work environments. She also publishes online articles related to change management, mental wellness, co-parenting, workplace mediation, divorce mediation, human resources, and conflict resolution.

 

Wieringa, Kristina

Kristina (Tina) Wieringa is an adult educator and facilitator with over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Tina has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and has a track record for positively influencing the lives of others. In her role as a Leadership Development and Engagement manager and an adult educator, Tina develops, designs and delivers various learning opportunities for adults, including time management, leadership, communication skills and others. Recently, Tina has been able to expand her portfolio to include working with community members to support communications and collaborative working environments.

 

Woods, Shalimar

Shalimar Woods specializes in Family Relations and Community Care. She studied Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner at York University and has a Master’s of Law from Carleton University. As an individual of Caribbean background, she appreciates the nuanced vibrancy that diverse community support can bring. A believer of compassionate and future-forward thinking, Shalimar chose Family Mediation as an avenue to aid families through complex life transitions and provide them with resources to prepare them for a successful future. Shalimar began her family relations and community outreach journey working with grassroots not-for-profit organizations that allowed her the privilege to provide advocacy work for vulnerable groups. Some of her passions include trauma-informed care, cultural competency, mental wellness and restorative justice. As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and a member of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario, Shalimar looks forward to continuing her work in community growth by supporting individuals through compassionate knowledge building.
