Bruna Marchioro – Diploma in International Trade, 2014

I was so excited when I landed a paid work term position in May 2014 at Kuehne + Nagel Group- one of the world’s leading logistics companies. The objective of my work term was to provide support to the administrative staff in the Customs department while learning about the day-to-day operations of a logistics organization. The company was very supportive and gave me the freedom to complete different tasks throughout the internship. They encouraged me to ask questions and work on cross-functional teams.

During my work term I learned the importance of being proactive, seeking out additional information when necessary, and attention to detail. I gained hands-on, practical knowledge, the work environment was positive and encouraging and I made valuable contacts in the trade industry. I would absolutely recommend Ashton’s International Trade program to others, and strongly encourage students to complete a work term during their education. You get back what you put in; work terms are as rewarding as you choose to make them.
