The Red Seal Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer) Examination Preparation course is designed based on the competencies listed in the trade’s National Occupational Analysis (NOA). The course will help students review all the trade-specific concepts and theories they will need to challenge and successfully pass the Red Seal Examination.
This intensive review course is for participants who have the requisite theoretical and practical knowledge and have met the challenge requirements to write the exam. The course will guide candidates and help them with the preparation material for the exam to become a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer).
Students will have nine weeks to complete this course, which will include two hours of live instruction each week. Additionally, students will be expected to take part in various independent and group activities.
Applicants need a minimum of a high school diploma and must be 19 years or older at the time of starting the course.
Ashton College uses Adobe Connect and Schoology to help instructors and students connect and collaborate online. Students should have regular access to a computer, laptop or smartphone to access the class materials.
To be able to participate in webinars, students would need a webcam and headset, or a microphone and headphones, along with a high-speed internet connection. Please run a test to ensure whether your device can run Adobe Connect. You may be required to install the Adobe Connect add-in. If that’s the case, you will receive instructions to do so when you access a meeting for the first time. It is mandatory to run a Diagnostic Test to join an Adobe Connect meeting on a computer. The Diagnostic Test ensures that your computer and network connections are verified.
Adobe Connect mobile app is only available on Android devices and iOS. Recorded sessions are not accessible via the mobile device app, so students will need to use a desktop/laptop to view the recorded sessions.
Registration fee for this course is $495.
Note: As part of the course, you will have to purchase one textbook, which may approximately cost $50.
