Everything one does in life can be viewed as a negotiation. Negotiation is a dialogue between two or more people or parties intended to reach a beneficial outcome over one or more issues where a conflict exists with respect to at least one of these issues. This Negotiation training course provides a comprehensive introduction to negotiation. Students will learn how to use analytical tools and different social techniques for successfully representing one’s interests in every negotiation. This course acts as a strategic playbook for becoming a skilled negotiator and using the art of persuasion in the workplace. Identifying key issues and goals, and dealing with obstacles in a persuasive manner are examined. Students will learn how to best achieve a balance of what is best for all individuals and parties involved. Negotiation becomes an essential skill in conflict resolution and is extremely important for workplace managers, leaders and employees. This course will also assist human resource managers and leaders in implementing strategies in the workplace to diffuse conflict and increase overall workplace employee connectivity.

Monika is currently a board member of the global Association of Change Management Professionals and she is a Certified Change Management Professional.
Inspiring purpose and enabling success, Sharon Seidler is an experienced dispute resolution practitioner, creative serial entrepreneur, thoughtful human resources professional, engaging course developer, instructor, and motivating professional coach. She has experience in multiple industries, having worked in community, public, private, union and non-unionized organizations over the past 32 years. During this time, she has gained proficiencies in international and virtual workforce development, cultural revitalization, collaborative trusts, innovative change, employee engagement, labour relations, organizational effectiveness, learning development and instruction.
Sharon holds certificates in Human Resource Management from the University of Alberta, Professional and Adult Learning Instruction from the Northern Institute of Technology and Conflict Resolution and LEAN Six-Sigma Yellow-Belt from Kansas State University. She is also a licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent (producer) in Alberta and Arizona. She is currently an active member of the Kansas State Supreme Court Advisory Council, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the Society for Human Resources Management. She holds a leadership role on the Education, Research and Training Committee with the Association for Conflict Resolution.
As an experiential learning instructor, Sharon unites her work and personal experience with research, theory and application to generate an experiential learning setting geared toward student and apprentice growth. In her personal life, Sharon is a wife, friend, step-mom and grandma, sister and daughter. She enjoys active social time with her friends, family and colleagues.

Ashton College uses web conferencing tools for conducting online classes and online learning management systems for managing resources, assignments, and grades. These tools help instructors and students connect live online as well as asynchronously. The basic requirements for online learning include a computer, webcam, speakers, and a microphone or a headset and headphones, along with a reliable internet connection. Though online learning can be pursued using smartphones and tablets, the use of laptops or desktop computers is encouraged for an enhanced learning experience.
This course does not require approval by the Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training. As such, it was not reviewed.
