AWS Certification

Amazon manages a set of AWS certifications that are designed to help cloud computing professionals validate their skills and to help employers find suitable employees. There are four different categories of AWS certifications: Foundational, Associate, Professional, and Speciality.

The Foundational category houses the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification. This certification serves as the entry point for AWS professionals and it covers general AWS practices. You do not need to have a Cloud Practitioner certificate to attain higher-level AWS certifications, but it is recommended. Amazon also suggests having six months of AWS experience before attempting the exam for this certification.

The Associate category is for intermediate certifications and in this category are the Solutions Architect – Associate, SysOps Administrator, and Developer certifications. Amazon recommends having one year of AWS experience before attempting the exam for any of these certifications.

The Professional category is the expert certification tier, with Amazon recommending at least two years of experience in AWS before attempting these certification exams. In this category are the Solutions Architect – Professional, and DevOps Engineer certifications.

The Specialty category is for advanced technical AWS skills that do not fit into the other categories. Certifications in this category include Security, Advanced Networking, Machine Learning, Alexa Skill Builder, Data Analytics, and Database.

Our AWS Certification Training Basics course focuses on knowledge and skills covered under the Cloud Practitioner certification and the Security certification.
