Johann is an immigration lawyer and the founder of Contreras Law, established in 2017 in the City of Port Moody, Greater Vancouver. After several years of practicing immigration law in downtown Vancouver, he relocated his practice to better serve clients across the region.
Prior to law school, Johann worked as a self-employed university student tutor, supporting students in achieving their academic goals. Since being called to the bar, he has represented clients before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), and the Federal Court of Canada.
As a faculty member, Johann brings extensive practical experience to his teaching. He is frequently consulted by fellow immigration lawyers and consultants for professional guidance and has presented a wide range of immigration law topics. He is recognized for his ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, accessible terms.
