Online Support Technician (Entry Level)

Reporting to the Senior Online Support Technician, this opportunity will be most enjoyed by a technologically savvy individual who also has a passion for online learning. The successful individual will work on a tech savvy team and be responsible for monitoring and providing support within our live online learning (webinar) environment for both staff and students alike.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: comfortable using a computer for multiple tasks and familiar with common issues and their resolutions.
  • Communication skills: able to give concise and simple instructions, responses, and requests.
  • Able to collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Problem solving skills: able to efficiently assess an issue, develop and implement solutions.
  • Able to be flexible with scheduling.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Able to adapt to new software and procedures quickly.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with G Suite apps (Drive, Gmail) and Google Classroom is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Zoom or Microsoft Teams is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Creates, maintains, and organizes online learning environments.
  • Troubleshoots technical inquiries from instructors and students.
  • Communicates with students with various levels of English proficiency.
  • Monitors and maintains online webinar sessions.
  • Finds innovative and simpler ways to improve procedures and student experience.
  • Sets up and manages accounts for students.
  • Trains new faculty on how to use the learning tools efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work hours: 11:30am – 8:30pm (depending on the classes being run), Monday to Friday with a one-hour unpaid meal break. 40 hours per week.
