Instructor, Practicum Coordinator

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Registrar, the Practicum Coordinator supports the facilitation of experiential learning within the diploma programs offered by Ashton College. Your role will be to support students with all practicum placements and internship opportunities, locally and globally.

Who you are?

  • You are a professional who either has a Diploma and/or an equivalent amount of prior work experience related to the role.
  • You are a strong and a confident communicator and presenter and do not shy away from writing, editing, proofreading, communicating, and presenting.
  • You are a team player and can collaborate with other team members to map out robust processes.
  • You thrive in seeing projects through and can work both independently and under pressure (tight deadlines).
  • You have high attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills, and hone a solutions forward mentality.
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe Suite.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be developing community partnerships with the goal of identifying placement opportunities for students.
  • You will ensure appropriate agreements are in place with all new and existing partners.
  • You will represent the College with any live, phone calls or emails to prospective practicum hosts.
  • You will ensure that students are ready to go for their practicums after having met placement requirements.
  • You will follow up with practicum hosts to ensure practicum requirements are being/have been met by students.
  • Review practicum reports, ensure compliance, and carefully forward paperwork to student services to be processed so that student may graduate.

The position is Part-Time and we are flexible in the days that you would like to work. We presently require the right candidate to be available for at least four (4) days and a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Part-time hours: 20 per week

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
