Certificate in Refugee Class Immigration Law Instructor

Ashton College is currently looking for an Instructor for our Certificate in Refugee Class Immigration Law. The Certificate in Refugee Class Immigration Law (CIRC) is intended for Immigration Practitioners who are seeking an in-depth knowledge of this area of Immigration Law. It is designed to bridge theory and knowledge with practical experience and case studies. Practice before both the Refugee Protection Division and the Refugee Appeal Division will be covered in detail. Faculty are chosen for their in-depth knowledge of this specialized area of Immigration Law.

This class will be taught LIVE online weekly using our Zoom platform for three hours a week, for a total of 13 weeks.   


  • Prepares and facilitates learning activities (ie. webinar presentations, online discussions and assignments, etc) that are designed to help students meet their learning objectives.
  • Fosters a productive and collaborative online learning environment.
  • Provides detailed feedback to students regarding their performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge in Immigration Law is mandatory
  • Fluent in English.
  • Exceptional communicator (both verbal and written).
  • Any other certifications or degrees are an asset but not mandatory
  • Teaching/training experience.
  • Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection, high quality webcam/microphone.

Desired Skill Set of Online Instructors:

  • Understanding of how to utilize online technology.
  • Experienced with facilitating or participating in virtual meetings.
  • Confident, personable and engaging presenter.
  • Ability to plan engaging and interactive learning activities.
  • Able to set aside adequate time to teach the course and interact with their students.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance
  • Willingness to participate in further training in order to become an excellent online instructor.
  • Personable instructor who is dedicated to training young professionals.

This is a contract position. The length of each contract position is determined by the length of the course that the instructor is teaching.

Salary– $30-$60 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
