Join us for a Live Online Info Session about our Human Resources Management Diploma Program with instructor Jabeen Boga, who will answer your questions live. Ashton College staff will also be available to advise and answer your questions about admissions and other general questions about the course.

This program focuses on skills that build effective relationships at all levels of the organization. During the program, students will explore several important topics, including workforce planning, human resources development, compensation and benefits, labour relations and occupational health and safety.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Evaluate core processes in human resources practices associated with strategic planning, acquisition and development, utilization of human resources, establishment and improvement of labour and employee relations, and compensation and administration issues.
  2. Promote the best human resources practices in an organization.
  3. Contribute to the monitoring of health and safety in the workplace.
  4. Analyze diverse forms of adaptation to a changing environment and implement change in a logical and planned way.
  5. Define implementation strategies for job redesign and work re-organization.
  6. Analyze the application of industrial relations legislation and its effects on employee relations and working conditions.
  7. Evaluate the application of key practical approaches to contemporary human resource problems in an organizational context.
  8. Encourage an approach to the practice of human resource management that is proactive and thoughtful rather than reactive.
  9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

Meet the Instructor: Jabeen Boga

Jabeen Boga is a Human Resources professional with over ten years of progressive experience across a wide variety of human resources functions that include employee relations, performance management, change management, HRIS, health and safety and total rewards. In addition to this, she is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional with responsibility for offices that span across Western Canada. Jabeen earned her undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University obtaining Dean’s Honour Roll status. She also supports human resources in the community sitting on the Greater Advisory Council for CPHR BC & Yukon as well as leading the Career Advancement Network. Jabeen has worked for a number of large organizations, including KPMG and TD Bank. She is passionate about the field of human resources and about sharing her knowledge through mentoring and teaching. Jabeen is part of the Ashton College faculty instructing the Diploma in Human Resources Management program. As a recipient of HRD Canada’s 2015 and 2017 HR Awards, she is excited to share her experience and passion for the field of human resources with you.
