Guidelines for School Advisors and Faculty Advisor

Contact between Ashton College and your practicum host are consistently managed by the Student Success Coordinator.

  • A minimum of 3 months prior to your practicum, the Student Success Coordinator has contacted school districts/private schools to secure practicum dates
  • Upon confirmation, all practicum materials are sent to the school directly and contact information is given to the student
  • Between the School Advisor (Principal, Resource Teacher, etc.) and the Student Success Coordinator, phone calls, emails and Zoom chats are implemented to ensure continued support for each student
  • Any questions or concerns are dealt with by the Student Success Coordinator and Program Director as required
  • Upon completion of the practicum, evaluation forms are returned to the Student Success Coordinator by the School Advisor
  • Once the Student Success Coordinator has received the evaluation form from the School AND upon receipt of the logbook assignments, the SSC will grade and then inform Student Services of completion of the practicum
  • Student Services will then finalize your grades and contact the student of completion of the program and any further requirements
