He has been a financial manager in the private sector, a public service officer with the Federal government, a business owner and recently a business teacher. He is inspired to pass along the best that he has learned. Saeed appreciates good, healthy discussions that result in productive action. Obada Al-Dimashki is an engaging and interpersonal business professor with extensive experience teaching at various post-secondary institutions across Canada. His teaching has covered several business topics including international business, finance, supply chain and management. Along with his teaching, His industry experience includes international supply chain management at a major industrial group and he has served as a reserve Combat Logistics Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. He has a global business background with experiences in many countries around the globe including France, South Korea, Canada and the UAE. Obada holds a Master of Global Business degree from the University of Victoria and is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP|FIBP). He is also a dynamic individual with active hobbies such as karate, soccer and bodybuilding.

Effren Atienza graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in English with an equivalent Canadian University degree. He is an Internationally Trained Certified Public Accountant (ITA-CPA); a Master in Business Administration (by Correspondence); and obtained the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation from the National Payroll Institute (formerly the Canadian Payroll Association).
He obtained Professional Bookkeeper and QuickBooks Specialist certifications from Universal Accounting Center, Utah, U.S.A. He is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor from Intuit Canada and obtained QuickBooks Online for Canada certification from the Labyrinth Learning Center.

Sanjay Bhatia is a Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 15 years of international experience working in the fields of bookkeeping, accounting, taxation in the United States, India and Canada. He is passionate about developing technical and professional skills of students demanded by employers in today’s highly competitive industry. He believes in sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge by imparting result-oriented education to future professionals.
Sanjay has been teaching computerized accounting to students and he has taught various classes on accounting software, such as Sage 50. He is QuickBooks Desktop Certified and has also acquired certification in Sage Accounting. Sanjay worked at H&R Block for a few tax seasons and worked as an instructor imparting education and preparing future tax professionals to work during tax season.
Currently, Sanjay is working for a construction company handling the day to day office work and accounting for all its group companies and joint ventures. He also works part-time for a public accounting firm working on various projects ranging from bookkeeping to preparing taxes for corporations and individual taxation.

Parm Birring is a seasoned business professional holding multiple designations in Human Resources (CPHR, SHRM-SCP, C.MCIPD), Management (C.Mgr), Fraud (CFE), Accounting (CPA, CA), and Governance (C.Dir). He earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, specializing in Finance, Strategy, and Complex Corporate Transactions, while also completing the CPA In-Depth Tax Program. Currently, Parm is finalizing his Doctorate in Business Administration from Montpellier Business School.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Parm has held roles such as Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer for midsize organizations across Canada and the United States. An entrepreneur at heart, Parm owns an accounting practice and a business consulting/advisory firm. He also serves as a board director for a family-owned and operated group of companies.
In addition to his extensive industry experience, Parm has over 10 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate (BBA), graduate (MBA), and professional levels (CPA). His passion lies in mentoring and coaching students to become the leaders of tomorrow, a purpose that drives his commitment to education and professional development.

Cynthia Ellacott, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who has worked to enhance both large and small business by reviewing processes and making recommendations for changes. She has been working in the accounting field since she was a teenager in her family business. She started doing ledger accounting when she was thirteen before the start of accounting programs. She received her accounting designation in 2000.
Cynthia had worked in many organizations from construction companies owned by her family, to real estate companies (Intrawest Blackcomb), private schools and medical clinics. Currently, Cynthia is working as a Public Accountant, supporting charities and startup companies, and doing personal and corporate taxes.

Daniel Elliot is a professional accountant with over twenty-five years of experience, having worked in various sectors including private industry, income tax audit, government, and the nonprofit sector. In his role as a Regional Comptroller within a federal government department, he successfully managed budgets and accounting operations while overseeing contracting, procurement, and material management. Outside the federal public service, Daniel served as the treasurer for two separate charities and held the position of Director of Finance for a medium-sized nonprofit organization. His experience in the private industry includes roles as a manufacturing cost accountant and general bookkeeper. In addition, Daniel has shared his knowledge by teaching at a business school, and he is recognized as a business author and learning facilitator.

Egbal Eltahir earned an MA in Economics from the University of Ottawa and an MSc in Accounting from KSU. She is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Walden. Egbal has significant experience in lecturing, conducting economic research, accounting, taxation, and financial services. She considers herself a quick learner with a proven ability to interpret and analyze complex information. She frequently adapts by utilizing various computer programs to enhance work efficiency. Egbal is enthusiastic about being a faculty member at Ashton College, where she can collaborate with students to advance their careers.

Stefan is a CPA with many years of experience as a tax practitioner at large and midsized firms, including Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton. During this time, he worked on tax planning, compliance, and reorganization for large public and private corporations.
He continues to specialize in taxation by providing consulting services to smaller public practice firms while pursuing his MBA at Laurentian University.
Stefan teaches accounting, tax, and university-level math while also coaching students preparing for the CFE and module exams for CPA.
Outside the office, Stefan enjoys playing basketball, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Philip Jaling is a dedicated accounting instructor with a wealth of experience in both academia and industry. Holding a CPA designation and a Master’s in Accounting, Philip brings a practical approach to his teaching at institutions like the University Canada West and Capilano University, where he specializes in financial and managerial accounting, QuickBooks, and strategic management. His professional background includes roles in audit, financial reporting, and accounting operations, with experience in both public and private sectors, including TSX-listed companies.
Beyond his technical expertise, Philip is passionate about incorporating Indigenous knowledge into his curriculum and actively supports minority communities. Outside the classroom, he enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time outdoors with his dog, making his classes both insightful and engaging.

Changmin Lee is a Chartered Professional Accountant with experience in audit with a Big Four accounting firm as well as in the industry. Changmin’s industry experience consists of retail, apparel and health care in various roles including as head of finance. Changmin’s industry experience spans retail, apparel, and healthcare in various roles, including as head of finance. Additionally, Changmin has experience in training professionals in auditing standards and assessing mock common final exams for candidates studying to become CPAs themselves.
Changmin has had incredible mentors through his educational and professional career, which greatly contributed to his success. Their impact has inspired Changmin to give back and assist in training the next generation of accountants. Changmin’s teaching philosophy is based on drawing real-life examples from his experience to complement the technical aspects of the course.

Professor Naik holds a CPA designation and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree remotely from Aston University in the UK. He brings approximately 7 years of teaching experience, having taught at colleges and universities in the Middle East and Canada. Professor Naik is presently working at the University of Prince Edward Island as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Faculty of Business. In his downtime, Professor Naik enjoys running and playing bass.

Dilip is a Chartered Accountant from India. He also has a Bachelors of Science in Economics/Mathematics from the University of Alberta. Dilip has passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 exam and has worked as a financial controller in Canada for more than seven years. Prior to moving to Canada, Dilip was a Regional Financial Controller managing a large team based in Dubai, UAE for almost eight years. Dilip was in charge of finance and administration, overseeing many countries in the Gulf. Education is Arina’s passion, exemplified by her work at both Ashton College and the University of Toronto, as well as throughout her teaching career. Arina believes that helping students realize their potential is one of the most rewarding experiences and she is always looking for ways to enhance the classroom learning experience and share the practical application of concepts. Arina has over 7 years of experience in complex accounting areas, including budgeting and financial planning, internal controls and audit, and corporate accounting. She has experience in both the private industry and the public sector and is currently working in a senior finance role for the federal government. Arina is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.

Emad Tawadrous is a CMA Accountant who was working as a taxation lecturer assistant for two years and an accounting instructor for the past five years. He teaches accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, payroll, computerized accounting with Sage and QuickBooks, management information systems, business math, and corporate and personal taxation. Previously, he studied taxation at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University and has a bachelor’s degree in Professional Accounting, Accounting Sciences and Management Accounting from Alexandria University. He later obtained his master’s degree in Cost and Managerial Accounting (CMA) from the High Institute of Accounting Studies at Alexandria University. Nicolaos has been involved in the home inspection industry for the past decade. Both as an instructor at vocational schools and as a building inspector for residential and municipal buildings. He has also been a licensed contractor and indoor environmental practitioner in Laval, Quebec.
Nicolaos has a specialized BA in Human Environment, a degree that focuses on how geography influences human behaviour and examines the impact of human activity on the environment. This gives him a unique view of construction as he looks at it through a lens of providing creative solutions towards climate change, biodiversity loss, natural resource management and sustainability. Su-Yan Gay is a human resources (HR) professional who brings over 15 years of HR experience to Ashton College. For over ten years, Su-Yan worked for a large crown corporation where she served as the Manager for Learning & Development. Her most recent position took her to Alberta, where she held a Senior HR Advisor role within a municipal government organization.
Based in Toronto, Su-Yan is currently managing her own HR consulting firm (NAYUS Consulting Group) where she is working with small business owners in the Caribbean, assisting them with their human resources and talent management needs.
Su-Yan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Education degree (specializing in Adult Education) from Brock University, and a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from York University. She has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and has worked as a special education teacher for 9 years in schools in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Before this experience, she worked as an education assistant for middle school and high school students and through an elementary behaviour support program.
Paula also has a Bachelor of Social Work degree. This background allowed Paula to work as a community support worker in a variety of group homes, as a personal caregiver and group home manager. She is honoured to be able to support students in their learning journey.

Todd Schleyer (BA, Cognitive Behavioral Psychology) has worked as a District Behavioural Resource and SEL educator/facilitator to over 100 schools in his local school district. He has over 20 years of experience working with children and adults in the field of special education, community mental health and developmental disabilities.
As an education professional, Todd has conducted and led district-wide professional development for all school staff including events on self-regulation, behaviour plan implementation and behaviour modification of students with complex needs. Todd also has years of experience coaching and educating teachers and administrators on mental health and evidence-based behavioural practices.
Todd is passionate about teaching and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with a diverse group of students.

Mike Van der Vlist (he/him) holds his MBA in Innovation Leadership from the University of Fredericton, his BA in Psychology, a BSc in General Sciences from Lakehead University and his Human Resources Management Certificate from Fanshawe College. Complimenting this he holds his C.I.M. (Certified in Management) designation, is a Certified Coach Practitioner, and has additional certificates and training in project management, online education, strategic management and economic development. Currently, Mike serves as the Chief Executive Officer for two non-profit charitable organizations providing community-based health and housing services in North Bay, Ontario. This has followed serving as an Executive Director for a Habitat for Humanity affiliate, an Executive Director for a Chamber of Commerce, creating Camp Dawn, and working as a supervisor, facilitator and front-line service provider in the developmental services, acquired brain injury, job development, and physically differing ability fields. Adding to his education and professional experience Mike has been an active Board Member and volunteer in many community organizations over the years such as the Rotary, Community Gardens, and the United Way. Mike is excited to be fulfilling a long-term goal to teach at the post-secondary level as a faculty member of Ashton College and be able to lend his education and experiences to the success of those in the Developmental Services Worker program.

Natalia Charles holds a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Studies and a Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis. She is a Registered Behaviour Analyst in Ontario and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.
Natalia is a dedicated and experienced professional in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), specializing in working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). With over 15 years of experience, she has applied evidence-based ABA strategies in both clinical and educational settings. She has collaborated extensively with families, educators, and other professionals to foster supportive environments that promote children’s development.

Megan Delcourt – Pereira is excited to join the faculty at Ashton College. With 15 years of experience in the public education sector, Megan looks forward to offering insight and evidence-based methodologies to students. She holds both an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Psychology and is currently a PhD candidate.
Megan's goal is to inspire and challenge those entering the public education sector, providing them with the tools necessary to support and serve children and adolescents with a variety of exceptionalities. Together with her students, she wants to learn, grow, and inspire each other.
Some of Megan's passions include cottaging, photography, animals, design, travel, and working with hard-to-serve children and youth.

Desroy Headley holds a Bachelor of Education, an Advanced Diploma, and a Master of Arts in Child and Youth Care. He is currently completing a certificate program in Behavioural Health. As a Practitioner, he has worked in community-based counselling, primarily offering mental health support to children, adolescents, and families with complex needs related to family issues, bullying, discrimination, substance abuse, and mental health challenges.
In his scope of practice, Desroy has worked in group homes, IBI centres, schools, and mental health organizations, providing mental health support and clinical guidance through a range of therapeutic approaches and modalities. These encompass Art and Play Therapy, DBT and CBT, Mediation and Talking Circles, and Wrap Around Therapy, among others. Desroy also provides therapeutic assistance to children, families, and adults with ASD, ADHD, and FASD, remaining fervently committed to supporting the developmental disabilities sector.
In his practitioner role, Desroy has also devised crisis response plans and programs tailored to meet the specific needs of the individuals and families under his care. He has also extended his mental health care and support to Northern Indigenous communities, serving youth and families. Through these diverse experiences, he has cultivated a deep passion for mental health and trauma work, which is integral to his identity as both a practitioner and an educator.

Paige Leung began her career in applied behaviour analysis as a home-based behaviour interventionist, where she found her passion working with children and their families. She now has a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care and a Master of Arts in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. Since completing her education, Paige has become a Board Supervised Behavior Analyst (BCBA) where she continues to work in both clinical and private settings. She works with a variety of children and their families across British Columbia. One of her favourite parts of her practice is to train and support other behaviour interventionists. She hopes they find the same passion and inspiration that she has discovered.

Jennifer O’Brien is a passionate educator who has been working in the field for almost 23 years. She holds a Bachelor Degree as well as a Master of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s and currently works for the Fort McMurray Catholic School District as a Classroom Support Teacher. Over the years, Jennifer has worked in a variety of educational settings with students in the Early Entry Program through to grade twelve.
Her goal is to guide and inspire teachers and educational assistants to grow their inclusive practices and strategies while supporting students with a variety of developmental disabilities. As a parent of two teenagers with special needs, she understands how impactful the appropriate support can be on student learning and mental health.
Jennifer strives to create comfortable and safe learning environments where students are not only challenged but also empowered to be at the centre of their own learning and actively engaged. She is excited to begin this new chapter of her career at Ashton College!

With a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care and an Infant and Supported Child Development Diploma, she is dedicated to supporting children and youth with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioural, developmental, and mental health challenges.
As an education professional, Sandie has a deep understanding of inclusive education strategies, individualized learning plans, and trauma-informed practices. John-David has worked in education for close to 20 years in different capacities ranging from Educational Assistant to ESL teacher. He holds a Masters in Education and currently sits on a panel with the Geneva Centre for Autism as well as having completed introductory training with the Hadley School for the visually impaired along with ABA training.
John-David believes that it takes a strong passion and kind heart to work in Special Education and it is that passion that gets brought to school each day and presented to students to create and sustain a positive learning environment.

During her time at PDSB, she worked in various roles such as: Focus on Youth Program Assistant, Learning Recovery Tutor, Professional Learning Module Facilitator and finally Work Experience Coordinator. In this role, she assisted special needs students ages 19-21 with securing work experience and worked with local businesses to promote, develop, and implement employment experiences for students. Camece has transitioned to working in the Career & Employment Sector and has worked as a Resource and Information Specialist and is now a Co-op Consultant at Georgian College.

Dr. Joëlle Bradford is a Canadian trained naturopathic physician. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver with a Bachelor of Science, specializing in clinical nutrition, followed by a pre-medical clinical internship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Quito, Ecuador. Joelle graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster.
Joëlle lived in Hong Kong from 2012 where she practised at the Integrated Medicine Institute (IMI). She treated acute and chronic health conditions in adults, children and infants; identifying and addressing the root cause of the health concern. She also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and was adept at identifying and addressing the underlying emotional component of illnesses, stress and mood issues.
Joëlle was the clinical supervisor for students from Australia’s Nature Care College and taught the students clinical charting, and supervised their patient visits and treatment plans.

She completed the Health Information Management Diploma program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, and received her diploma. She also graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru, India, with a master's degree in pharmacy.
With a background spanning from ICD 10 CM to ICD 10 CA, Stephy has over three years of expertise in coding and abstracting. She has additionally worked with a variety of EHRs, including EPIC, Cerner, and Med 2020.

Kyla Reimer is a Health Information Management Practitioner (HIMP) with over 15 years of experience. She graduated from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) in Regina, SK, in 2007 and obtained her certification from the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) shortly after. Kyla has been working with the Cypress Health Region (CHR) and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) since her graduation. She has won various scholarships throughout her education and has brought her skills and expertise to a variety of healthcare settings, including Acute Care, Rural Health, Mental Health, Public Health, and most recently, Kyla was part of a Covid-19 HIM team. Throughout her diverse experiences, Kyla has enjoyed mentoring multiple HIMP students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Francis is a passionate educator with a decade of experience in the transportation industry. His teaching journey began as a snowboard instructor and expanded through his work as a marine, heavy-duty equipment, and truck technician.
Driven by his love for teaching, Francis is pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Technological Education at York University, set to graduate in May 2025. He holds two Certificates of Qualification—one in Small Engines and the other in Truck and Transport. With firsthand experience of both passing exams on the first try and persevering through multiple attempts, Francis brings a supportive and relatable approach to helping others succeed.
Growing up immersed in skilled trades, Francis values the impact of hands-on work and remains committed to lifelong learning, ensuring his skills stay current in both the transportation industry and educational sectors.

Caleb Matthews is a Red Seal Journeyman Welder with over 15 years in the mining industry. He started his career in Fort McMurray at a shop supporting one of the mines there. Through work at that shop and for a few other companies, Caleb got the opportunity to practice many aspects of welding and fabrication. Equipment repair offered many challenges and unique opportunities to find solutions on many different types of equipment. When working for a manufacturer in Edmonton, Caleb was able to learn and practice fabrication from blueprints and finer tolerances.
At the mine where Caleb currently works, he has had the opportunity to become a trainer for many topics, including working with the tradespeople in the maintenance departments. He has gained a strong understanding of adult learning techniques through his work as a trainer. He wants to transfer his passion for learning to others around him and to help them be successful in their goals.
Caleb has joined the safety department at his mine recently and is also a part of the Mine Rescue team and Fire Department there. In his time off, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their pets, as well as some skateboarding, pickleball, and staying fit through various exercises.

Harshad Patel is an experienced instructor with over 20 years in various industries and academia. His diverse career includes hands-on roles as a millwright and supervisory positions at several plants, along with teaching across multiple programs, including the IMM program, Power Engineering, and Environmental Studies.
He is committed to providing students with valuable knowledge and practical expertise. Harshad creates an inclusive and supportive learning environment by incorporating innovative teaching strategies and new technologies to enhance course delivery. He has contributed to curriculum development aimed at helping students transition smoothly into the workforce, using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support skill development.
Harshad holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). He also holds an Engineering Technician Certificate (OACETT), a Class-4 Wastewater Certificate, and an Industrial Mechanical Millwright Licence (433A). His goal is to empower students to develop critical thinking skills and succeed as skilled millwrights in today’s dynamic workforce.

Chef Karthik Perumal is a passionate chef specializing in menu management, kitchen design, and restaurant management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management/Tourism and a diploma in Food Production. With 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he is a Certified Red Seal Cook who has worked for establishments such as IHCL group of Hotels, Hilton, Marriott, and IHG Hotels, as well as in Cruise lines, Detention Centres, Retirement Homes, and daycares, expanding his expertise in therapeutic diets

Darryl Preston is a Red Seal Industrial Millwright Mechanic with 10 years of experience in the trade. He also holds a Certificate of Qualification as a Tool and Die Maker.
His career began in high school, working part-time as a machinist in a local tool and die shop. After graduating, he completed an apprenticeship and worked at the same shop for 17 years. He then spent a few years in Western Canada as a powerline apprentice before returning to Ontario to pursue a career as a millwright. Since then, he has gained experience in the automotive and food industries and is currently a lead millwright at Nortera Foods in Tecumseh, Ontario.
Grateful for the opportunity to work alongside and learn from skilled colleagues, Darryl developed a passion for teaching the next generation. For the past few years, he has been a technologist at St. Clair College, teaching in the School of Apprenticeships and Skilled Trades.

Natalie Raffeiner is a Red Seal Carpenter with 8 years experience in the industry and 4 years running her own contracting company. She has taught the Women in Trades Sampler on several occasions and is incredibly passionate about having more diversity in the Trades. She regularly speaks in High Schools about the gifts of ADHD and how persons with neurodivergent minds can thrive in the trades. She's well known for her unique projects and enthusiasm for how the world works. She has diplomas in Music Pedagogy as well as a Culinary Red Seal and is always excited about sharing her passion for Patterns, Material Properties and Making.

Hitomi Syvertsen brings over 15 years of professional experience in pastry and baking to her role at Ashton College. She is an accomplished Red Seal Certified Baker, recognized for her expertise in artisan pastries and international desserts. As the former owner and chef of Baker and Table Café in Vancouver, Hitomi established a renowned destination for unique Japanese-inspired treats. She previously worked at prestigious establishments, such as the Four Seasons and Pan Pacific Hotels, where she earned numerous accolades, including a gold medal at the EAT! Vancouver Chocolate Showpiece Competition and recognition as Employee of the Year.
An advocate for lifelong learning and sharing knowledge, Hitomi holds a Provincial Instructor Diploma from Vancouver Community College and has mentored students to success in competitive baking events. Her teaching focuses on fostering creativity, precision, and industry readiness among aspiring bakers.

Chef Peter Warszycki has dedicated his life towards the study, creation, and consumption of food. This pursuit led him westward from Manitoba, through Alberta, until he hit gold in BC’s hospitality and tourism industries. As an SFU undergrad working part-time as a line cook, he explored and navigated Vancouver’s food culture through an academic lens.
Working tirelessly alongside chefs and his peers to hone his skillset, in 2016 he accepted an Executive Chef position in Dalian, China where he worked and resided for several years. During a sabbatical from the hospitality industry, he was employed as an ESL instructor for numerous international firms and their team members.
Since returning to Canada in 2021, Peter has strived to support individuals in BC’s tourism, food and beverage, and hospitality industries. If you find him outside of the kitchen (or the classroom), he is volunteering, collecting ingredients or coordinating the next exciting food event.

He has worked as an Automotive Instructor for many years but is currently working at an advanced automotive repair facility. Throughout his professional journey, he has had the opportunity to work in various roles, allowing him to hone his skills in automotive service and repair, customer service, and shop/business management.

Corene Allen graduated from VCC in 1997 with honours and held a tutor position during her studies. She has held many positions throughout different health authorities including wards such as Emergency, Surgical, Medical, Clinical Trials and Ambulatory Care. She currently works as a Nursing Unit Clerk for Interior Health. In 2011, she worked as the lead instructor for a Nursing Unit Clerk Program at another college. She has distinguished results in having the highest successful graduation rate of any program at the college. She also had the privileged of helping develop the curriculum for the course content. She shares her passion for health care through her extensive experience. Her biggest accomplishment is when she sees a student working at the hospital or even having the pleasure of working alongside them. Corene is married with three kids and we enjoy skiing, camping, travelling and biking. She also enjoys watching them play their sports.

Subina Bedi obtained her unit clerk diploma from Kwantlen University in 2006. She completed her diploma in Immigration Consultant from CDI College in 2021.
Subina has been working with Fraser Health since 2006 as a full-time Unit Clerk. Her work experience of 17 years includes working in clinical areas, surgical floor, orthopedic floor, operating room, recovery room, high acuity room and pre-admissions along with registration for surgery. In her working career with Surrey Memorial Hospital and Jim Pattison outpatient centre, she takes students as a preceptor.
Subina enjoys teaching and it’s been her passion since becoming a unit clerk to pass on her multitasking skills to other students to make them the best of the unit in their careers. As an instructor, she believes the most important thing is to teach and help her students transfer what they learn in a class setting to succeed in the real healthcare world.

Crystal Frenette brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role at Ashton College. With a Master of Arts in Leadership and a degree in Nursing, Crystal has dedicated her career to advancing healthcare through both practice and education. She has extensive experience in various nursing roles across Canada and the United States, with a focus on pediatrics.
More recently, Crystal’s career has been spent in leadership positions within a large public health unit in Ontario, where she honed her skills in healthcare management and quality improvement. Since rejoining academia in 2021, she has been an inspiring educator, teaching courses in nursing, healthcare management, healthcare quality, and medical office administration.
Crystal is deeply committed to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. She is excited to bring her expertise and enthusiasm to Ashton College, where she looks forward to supporting students on their educational journeys and helping them achieve their professional goals.

Kari Mardian obtained her Masters of Education degree from the University of Lethbridge. Her research focus was examining the effects of stress and teachers in relation to causes, effects and management techniques. She spent the majority of her career as an instructor for a Bachelor of Nursing Degree program as well as an Individualized Study Tutor for Nursing Research. As a Registered Nurse, she has devoted her career and passion to Public Health and Pediatric Nursing in Southern Alberta Health Regions. She continually strives to implement a positive learning environment for students to reach their full potential. The best part of her job as an instructor is helping students to succeed. She feels very privileged to be apart of the Ashton College faculty. Personally, her husband and two daughters are an integral aspect of her life. Together they love to travel, golf and enjoy fine cuisine.

Aman graduated in 2006 from VCC with a unit clerk certificate. She also pursued a bachelor's degree in adult education in 2015 from UFV. Since then, Aman has been working at the BC Cancer Agency as a unit clerk. She has done various unit clerk jobs and also has taught students at CHCA and Kwantlen College. She enjoys teaching, and it has been her passion since she was a child. She loves how rewarding teaching is. In her spare time, Aman loves to spend it with family and friends.

Tina Toal has over 24 years of experience in the health care industry. In 1998, she completed a Unit Clerk course at Vancouver Community College. She then worked over the years specializing in oncology and held various positions from unit clerk to clerical supervisor to medical secretary. She started teaching and realized that it was her passion to help others learn. She loves to be a part of the success our students achieve. Tina currently lives in Langley with her husband, four kids and their adorable French bulldog, Elvis.
