BC Building Code

Live Online Info Session

Join us for a Live Online Info Session about our BC Building Code course with instructor Andrew Smith, who will answer your questions live. Ashton College staff will also be available to advise and answer your questions about admissions and other general questions about the course.

The BC Building Code (BCBC) is a provincial regulation that governs how new construction, building alterations, repairs and demolitions are completed. This code establishes minimum requirements for safety, health, accessibility, fire and structural protection of buildings and energy and water efficiency. It applies throughout the province except for some federal lands and the City of Vancouver.

The course is designed as an introductory course to the BCBC. It will cover important aspects of the code such as:

  • Application of the code
  • Non-application of the code
  • Objectives of the code
  • Acceptable solutions

We look forward to connecting with you online! To find out more about the program:
