CANADA

Happy 147th Birthday Canada! The Ashton College Campus will be closed on Tuesday, July 1st in celebration of Canada Day. Take this opportunity to check out all of the fun activities in and around the lower mainland!

Canada Day Fire Works – Vancouver’s only two-barge simultaneous pyrotechnic extravaganza lights up the night sky in Western Canada’s largest fireworks display during Canada Day. Watch as the sky lights up in celebration of our nation’s birthday – with Hudson’s Bay starting the show with a bang in green, red, yellow and blue and Coast Capital Savings, the fireworks presenting sponsor, closing the show with a fantastic finale in blue, all synced to a great Canadian soundtrack.

Canada Day at Canada Place 2014 – The largest Canada Day celebration outside the nation’s capital is right here in downtown Vancouver. Over 300,000 people will take in the 13 hours of FREE family fun. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. guests will enjoy a wide variety of live performances, breathtaking exhibits and interactive displays at the Waterfront Party.

Canada Day Parade Vancouver 2014 – The 6th Annual Canada Day Parade starts at the corner of Georgia and Broughton Streets. This free community event features more than 60 dynamic entries and recognizes diversity, multiculturalism and the special bond that connect all Canadians.

2014 TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival – The final day of the Jazz fest coincides with Canada Day. There will be free outdoor concerts at Granville Island!

Have fun, and don't forget to wear sunscreen!
